Plans for a new site/new facility!

We have an opportunity to establish a facility in Northeast Arkansas that will offer innovative therapy services year round including equine facilitated (”hippotherapy”) therapy and possibly aquatic therapy. A site has been located and we are currently trying to secure funds for such an endeavor. To make this a success, we will need as much assisstance as we can get.

Wow, what a great week! Twenty- two campers were enrolled and all attended this years camp. All fees were paid by donations from local businesses and individuals. We raised 3185.oo to make this years camp the most successful ever. Ten volunteers donated their time for the whole camp this year, and we couldn’t have done it without them. Several parents also donated snacks and drinks and we appreciate them more than they know. I want to update the list of donors who helped make a difference in the life of a child. Safe Ride Transportation Big Boost to Pledge Drive

Safe Ride Transportation in Evening Shade, AR helped kick off our annual pledge drive with $500 donation. We would like to send out a special thanks to Jill and everyone at Safe Ride for their gracious support of our summer therapy camp. Hippotherapy and/or equine facilitated therapy would not be possible in this area if it were not for the help of businesses and individuals like Safe Ride. The hippotherapy camp that Safe Ride continues to support makes a big difference in the life of local children with disabilities.

Life Strides Therapy will begin our annual pledge drive this week. We will begin calling and visiting local businesses to solicit donations for our upcoming camp. Last year we raised $3000.00 for our campers and no childs family had any out of pocket expense to pay for their child to go to camp. We have expanded our camp to accept 20 campers this year and have all vacancies full. We will need your help to meet the needs of this years camp. Tuition for a single camper is $150.00 for the week. Some businesses and individuals will choose to sponsor a child while others will will make a smaller donation. We are greatful for any and all donations we receive. We are very fortunate to have such a giving community in the north central Arkansas. Don’t forget that you can donate online through this website using paypal.

Thanks to Tony Logue for all the help with lifestridestherapy.org. Tony is the driving force behind our new web page and format. We know horses and kids, but not the internet and computers. Tony listened to our needs and helped us to come up with a product that would allow us to get our information to the public. Tony was very affordable and available to answer questions and fix problems. We will use him in the future. Tony was also the first to donate to our organization via paypal. 2009 Camp Dates

Great news! Camp dates have now been set for July 6th through 10th. Mark your calender and get your registration in soon.

Last years campers should have received registrations forms by now. If you have not received this please call Alicia at 8708470767. If you have not been to the camp in the past and wish to get registration info please call Alicia at the same number. There are only 20 positions for this years camp available. Positions will be filled on a first come/ first serve basis. Last years camp filled up very fast.

We are working on a covered riding area for this years camp. If all goes well this riding area will be ready for the camp on time. We will need to purchase portable metal livestock panels for the arena and sand for the base. If anyone would like to support this project specifically please contact Clint McBryde (8706120291)
